Clearing out

July 2005
We had our first garage sale last month. Made $704.60 and very glad that is over. Got rid of a LOT of stuff. Already have set aside about 1/2 garage of more stuff to go in the next garage sale. But think we will wait until it is a little cooler.
Closing on sale of our home is set for Friday, July 28. One major hurtle down.
We have a buyer for our Leroy Neiman artwork as one lump purchase. Those should be picked up this weekend. The house will seem so bare without our favorite art on the walls; but we have enjoyed them for almost 20 years and not even one piece would have fit on the boat. Another hurtle down; not quite as major as the house.
The antique silver services are going to our 3-yr-old granddaughter. Her mother will love us for assigning her to clean that stuff for the next 20 plus years or so. The century old Havilland china set will go to a younger nephew. I'm sure he will just be delighted to learn that he now owns dishes with pink flowers on them. But his mother wants to "keep it in the family" so it is going to him.
Wonder what else we can get out of this house quickly?
It is time to plan another trip to the boat!!
