Isobel rides out a squall... says she is ready to run around on shore.
That's the question now! It will be close and will depend on what kind of speed we can make today. Overnight the winds dropped and with the swell is still at about 3 meters, it made for a rolly night with speeds in the 5 to 6 knot range... If we can't make it by sunset, we will have to spend the night hove-to off Fatu Hiva, something we would rather not do! We have just checked in with SV Tewalka who is gaining on us, about 600 miles behind us now. And Maluhia who is in San Cristobal preparing to sail Sunday for mainland Ecuador. Mystic, the single hander made it to Hiva Oa after 43 days at sea! I am glad that we are almost there after 17 days...
We don't like to go into strange ports at night, and we have heard that Fatu Hiva is an amazing land fall, that we would rather see!
