I'm not sure where I left off. It has been a blur... a little sleep deprivation, a little jet lag, a little abrupt change of culture, a little abrupt change of focus...

When we landed in Tahiti, the local airline was on strike with no resolution in sight. With our Russian friends I drove around town trying to find passage to Raiatea and somehow, by having the right person answer the phone, we were able to get tickets on the High Speed Ferry that had been arranged by Air Tahiti. Why it wasn't better communicated, I will never know... I just know that we boarded it at 5:30 am yesterday and in 3 hours we were in Huahine. After an hour there, we were off again for a hour ride to Raiatea.

A very bizarre experience. to ride at 30 knots (remember that 6 knots on Sunrise is fast!), with an air conditioned cabin... We did enjoy the upper deck. The photo shows Moorea in the background... we were about half way there and we could see the mountains of Huahine off the bow.
