Practicing for the Bash

The trip from Puerto Escondido to La Paz doesn't really compare to the 'Bash' up the outside of the Baja, but it did give us a taste of going to weather again. It seemed that each day we had the wind right on the nose at 15-20 knots and 4-5' lumpy seas. We were lucky to make about fifteen or twenty miles towards our goal each day.
Looking on the bright side, at least it was warm weather sailing, and we got a chance to enjoy the spectacular scenery. Jeff's photo is one example of the dramatic cliffs along this stretch of coast.
On the final leg of the trip, we had enough breeze for a nice spinnaker run into La Paz. It's bittersweet to be saying good-bye to the Sea of Cortez, but we know we'll be returning sometime in the future.
