Ben's Seawing Adventures
New Pets!

I found a lizard a while ago. I named him Stripes. My Dad built him a cage. It has a flat bottom with a screen over top. Later I found a lizard in our garage and put him in with Stripes. He doesn't have a name yet. We buy crickets at the pet store for my lizards to eat.
I've been making some friends at church. Their names are Ethan, Thomas, and Jonathan.
Guess what?! My Dad used to have a pony tail and he got it cut off. Jacquie and I weren't there when he got it cut off. When Daddy got home he had his pony tail tucked in his hat hanging down. When he took his hat off we still didn't notice. Then we finally noticed. It was really funny!

Sailing Down River
Ben

On Wednesday we moved our sailboat into the water. It was cool to see it getting moved into the water. There was a box shaped crane. It used big straps under the boat. The straps clamp together. A man drives the crane over to the water. Then they lower the boat down.

We started to motor the sailboat to our friend Howard's dock behind his house but we didn't get there til the next day. On the way we passed 2 lifting bridges and one swing bridge. We also went through 2 locks. A lock is something you motor. It has 2 doors, one at each end. One closes while the other one opens. If the water level is lower, the higher level that you're in will go down. If it is higher then the water will go into the locks and you will go up. The trip was fun, exciting, and adventurous. The weather was hot and sunburny.

Pool & Beach!

A few days ago we finally got our swiming pool up. It's really cool! We got a floating baskeball net and three fun noodles.

We went to Fort Myers Beach. The sand felt nice between my toes and the water was really, really, really salty! The waves were lots of fun to play in. We built a sand fort but we never really finished it. We had ice cream on the beach. The ice cream man had an ice cream bike instead of a truck. My sister buried me in the sand. At first it felt wet but then it dried off. Once it was time to get out, I tried and tried but it was really hard. Then I started to move my tummy and it broke through and I finally got out.

We left on Tuesday because Daddy finished his computer work early. We got to our cousins house and I stayed there two nights and two and a half days. Mommy and Daddy stayed at a hotel because there was other family there. Kevin and I took his dog for a walk. Kevin had a remote control car that lights up and plays MP3 player music.
Then we got to the Creation Museum. One of the movies was about Noah's ark and there was water spraying down at the audience that was supposed to be the rains that flooded the earth and the seats even shook!
Then the next day we made it to the boatyard and saw Grandma and Grandpa (Heslop). Grandma and Grandpa have a boat too. A boatyard is a place where you can store your boat out of the water on stilt things. You have to climb a long ladder to get on your boat and you can't use the bathroom on your boat when on land. You have to walk to a local bathroom. There are lots of cool people that are there working on their boats. We stayed at the boatyard four days. We had a potluck supper for Easter Sunday. I crushed pop cans and rode my bike lots. I saw bulls and cows that sometimes get into the boatyard. Out in the water there were alligators.
Yesterday we moved into our new house. It has three bedrooms, two TV's, and one eating bar. We also have an outside porch with a screen around it. We are going to have a swimming pool in our backyard. We are around a bunch of scrub and palm bushes and there are spiders, snakes and turtles in them.

Almost Ready to Leave

On Sunday we're planning to leave for Florida. We're going to drive our van. We're going to go see a zoo on our way down to Florida. We're going to see a creation Museum in Ohio. We're going to see our cousins in Michigan. Then once we get to Florida we're going to rent a house. We may even have a swimming pool in our own backyard! It will take about three months for my Daddy to fix up our boat.
Our sailboat has a tall mast with a blue stripe on the side of our boat. Our boat is 41 feet long. It has two bedrooms that are called cabins and two couches that are called settees. It has one kitchen that is called a galley. We have two bathrooms that are called heads. The part on top of the boat is called the cockpit. The lines around the boat that save you from falling off of the boat are called life lines.

Yesterday it was really windy. The palm trees looked like they were going to fall over. The basketball net in the tennis court and the one across the street blew over. The boat rocked a lot. There was a lot of creaking because the boat was banging against the dock. Daddy adjusted the lines so we wouldn't slam into the dock anymore.

Today we saw a crab. Jacquie took a video of it. The crab climbed under the dock. Daddy got a wire and pulled it out so we could see it.

Today we're going to decorate for Christmas. We have already put up a two foot tall Christmas tree that is made of cardboard. We had to build it from a kit. We keep it on the kitchen table. When we do the rest of the dcorating we will get to eat snacks and listen to Christmas music. It will be fun.
