Landfall Bras D'or Lakes
27 May 2012 | St. Peters, Nova Scotia
We made landfall at 6pm last night. It was not champagne sailing, but 500 miles in 3 days is not so bad. The last day was very fast with 20-25kts from behind (SW) while the first two days were a muddle in rain and fog with mixed winds, all forward of the beam.
Last night, we tied up in the small canal just before the lock into St. Peter's. This is a very pleasant and protected spot, except for the fishing boats firing up their engines at 5am. Then we came thru the Lock at 8am this morning (5' rise in water level) and have anchored in front of the small St. Peter's marina, which has nice laundry, showers and internet (everything a cruiser could need).
