Anchored near Onset
05/16/2012, Cape Cod Canal

We anchored last night at Point Judith - it was not very restful as the anchor alarm went off at mid-night and then again at 6am - caused by major wind shifts rather than anchor dragging. But I still had to get up and check and make sure everything was right. Today we had a very rainy and squally start, with lightning and thunder. Then the afternoon turned quite nice sailing in 15kts and not quite sunshine. We hit the tide correctly in Buzzards Bay and into the canal, and had a knot or 3 of push the whole way. We need to wait here for a little more settled southerly wind - looks like we may get that perhaps Sunday. And there are various jobs to do - tighten the alternator belts and get out the 'offshore lines' (boom preventers and staysail sheets and jack lines). Beth and Evan

OK, so where are you off to?

If you head up to Rockport ME, look for the 50' wooden schooner, Voyager, and her skipper, Jeanette Phillipps. She is a great friend and lives in a gorgeous house in that area. I know she would love to meet you guys

Bill - plans are fluid depending on weather. Judi - thanks for the contact. Don't know if we'll see Rockport, but will look for Jeanette if we do.
