I took us 2 weeks, including and extra 2 days for a trip home, to complete the trent at a leisurely pace. The lock at Swift Rapids is one of the higher locks on the system yet only takes 6 minutes to fill or empty. Note the large hydro Dam in the photo.



The Big Chute is a very unique lock as it is a Marine Railway. A giant travel lift picks up your boat on straps and carrys you up and over the hill to the other side. All this while you are still on your boat free to walk around and take photos. its quite a thrill.
