Leaving Wilmington
13 February 2012 | Wilmington
Cool, sunny
|Well - we think we are finally leaving Bennett Bros., in Wilmington. We have booked a bridge opening for 10:30. I just have to get my radar system working. Keep your fingers crossed. Will only go about 25 miles today to SouthPort, but at least we will be on our way south.
Well - we are here at our first anchorage. Beautiful little spot off of the main channel. Looks like at low tide we will be in about 4.5 feet of water. We draw just a little less than 4 feet. We had a great motor down the Cape Fear River. Our new radar system gave us some trouble, but we got it worked out just before we entered the ICW. Bob is loving the new system - he knew where he was and didn't have to keep looking at the paper charts, and I didn't keep having to figure what marker buoy we were at. I think it will be early to bed because it is so cold - freezing or below tonight. Where are those hot flashes when you need them! We will be up early to get under way and hopefully be able to get south of Myrtle Beach.
