Our next boat.

Tied up near the harbor master's office in Petersburg is this wonderful reminder of fallibility, lost dreams, and passing time. Sort of like the Picture of Dorian Gray. Any vessel of any type ignored long enough will go to hell in a hand basket, but it takes a while for a fiberglass boat to sink where it sits. Maybe a hose decays off a seacock, or a prop shaft seal lets go, or enough rain or snow takes her under? The interesting thing about this one is that visible through the dirty windows are the detritus of everyday life, including dirty dishes and some fishing tackle and misc. gear. It's an art installation, really. Who would pay the moorage to keep this here, and why? And what should marinas do with derelict boats? This is a huge problem everywhere as disposal is often very expensive and complex.
