Blaze'n An Ocean Trail
Launched 31 July 07, Blaze-II is on her way...may she find smooth seas and friendly winds.
Round-the-World Yacht
October 21, 2007, Cascais, Portugal

When the Ericsson Round-the-World Racing Yacht headed out to sea, we happened to be in the dinghy, so we gave chase for a little photo op while she hoisted her sails. Later we saw her doing PR beside a huge tent and discovered that Ericsson, who sponsors the boat, sends their employees, a few at a time, to take a "working" ride, taking the helm and operating the grinders. At the end of the day they were kind enough to give us a tour. The composite shows her under sail, at dockside with Roy and Carol, Roy talking to Jeremy (boat builder,) and Ken, skipper of the schooner near us.

In Good Company
October 18, 2007, Cascais, Portugal

Blaze is shown here, nose to nose with the Ericsson round-the-world racing yacht, a perfect Swan-72 on the port side, and an elegant new schooner built in the old tradition across our gangway. We got personal tours and met some new friends on board the Ericsson and the schooner. You can't see it in this photo, but the marina butts up to an old and very large castle wall. Unfortunately, the inside of the castle has been modernized (we got a peek inside our first night as they were clearing out sound equipment that may have supported a rock concert) and not very interesting. Cascais was beautiful.

Clean and Crispy Lighthouse
October 18, 2007, Cascais, Portugal

This beautiful and fashionable lighthouse is located over the sea wall from the Cascais, Portugal marina. It is in splendid company, surrounded by elegant resort hotels on this tiny cove. We dinghied our way into this tiny inlet and were rewarded with a glimpse of a 10-inch jelly fish (note the short, fat tentacles.)
