We pulled a few hundred yards off the ICW and anchored behind a smalll man made island made from dredge spoils (dredged sand). Over the years, a few trees have seeded and it was a very nice spot to try to watch the launch of the Atlas 4 heavy rocket from Canaveral (30 miles to the norht). The launch went off on time, and we saw the smoke, but it was a bit less than "thrilling" where we were.

A catamaran TEREPIN was also anchored behind the island and just before dark, 4 people and a baby dinghed over to ask if we wanted to join them on the island by the camp fire for Smores. (gram crackers, marshmellows and choclate.) Sounded good but just then it started to rain so we did not get ashore. Not only are there 5 people on TEREPIN but they also had five dogs. Younger people than us old foogies and they had the right spirit. They are on their way to the Keys.
