Travelling on Blessed Spirit is guite nice and we love the pace and security of our floating home. However, when a good client asked me to hop up to Norfolk from Canaveral to look at a problems with a tug boat, it was very nice to have his jet arrive and whisk me back to Hospital Point in 1 hour and 27 min! (Continued...)

After sailing all day and all night from Beauford, SC, we arrived at Cumberland Is. at day break. After a nap at anchor, we explored this National Park where the Timucuan Indians were the earliest known human inhabitants. It was an unusually quiet place, about 10,000 acres on a stretch of 16 miles, and no bugs biting us! The entire island was covered with 600 year old Live Oak with moss hanging from their branches. (Continued...)

We pulled into the town docks of beautiful Beaufort mid afternoon on Tuesday and decided to stay here until the weather imporved. The remnants of IDA are producing winds that gust to 25 - 30 and it seems it rains for a bit every hour. (Continued...)

The last time we went South, we really never touched the bottom. Oh yes we found "skinny" water and bumped, but never hard aground.

After a really fun evening the night before with Ian and Linda (DECIBELLE), they dropped the dock lines and headed South at 0630. We tooted the conch horn and wish them fair winds and following seas (or what ever is best for a cat) . I'm sure we will see them again in the next 8 months. (Continued...)

Ian and Linda have been dreaming and planning to cruise for ten years now, and they are poised to begin the first steps of their cruise to the Bahamas first thing in the morning. We enjoyed their company and gave them some pointers this evening on Blesssed Spirit then got to see their catamaran, Decibelle, built in England, appropriate since they are both British. A very different cat from the normal cruising cat but rather a perfect boat for a couple, very open but cozy. (Continued...)
