Tod had chosen the Caliente Island yacht Club on the quiet side of Bethel island for an overnight stay. What a cute, funky style YC!

As there's no one around now, we have the guest dock to ourselves (feels like our private dock), and we have a great view of Mount Diablo.

Quiet morning around the neighborhood
The cows are mooing closeby, and all you hear at night are the crickets. The very friendly harbor master couple live on the premises, and we have all the luxuries of a YC in a remote, quiet area. BYC members- go check it out, they would like us to visit, and don't see much sail boats.
This feels like vacation: just sleeping in, no fixed plans: we decided to not leave the CYC, but explore Bethel Island by dinghy. With Karl's outboard on our dinghy, we went around the complete island (which took us several hours), and stopped for lunch at the Rusty Porthole restaurant ("restaurant" seems a bit too much of a name for this place, but the burger was good).
Along the way we saw plenty of different ways to enjoy and live on the waterfront- from shacks to more upscale.
