Boat Building in Bodrum-Turkey / Exclusive Yachts with Yasemin Yachting

The traditional wooden Gulette built on the Southern Coast of Turkey has developed from the original working vessel into the very popular pleasure yacht. The pointed front of the boat and the wide rounded aft allows it to cut through the water with ease and comfort.

Originally built of pine, wider availability of other timber has meant that these boats are now made out of teak and mahogany as well as varying qualities of different kinds of pine. The basic exterior design of these classic wooden yachts has not changed much since there first appearance in Turkey.

The modern Gulette is a luxuriously designed yacht with every comfort taken care of and as they are purposely built for the charter boating industry the level of accommodation now resembles that of a five star hotel. These wooden yachts are perfect for the weather conditions in the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas.

Here at Yasemin Yachting we specialize in building custom designed Gulettes to meet your specific requirements. We have a team of professionals experienced and capable of advising you in choosing a design to meet your every need and suggesting additional advantages, perhaps not obvious to the less knowledgeable designer.

Our designers understand the concept behind the traditional Turkish Gulette but also work with motorsailers, sailing yachts or any other kind of boat/ship.

Whilst we specialize in building traditional Turkish Gulettes we also have designers excited about using new materials and modern finishes to create more unusual interiors.

Gulette-Gulet-Gullet-Goulette Gulettes-Gulets-Gullets-Goulettes
There are a variety of modern spellings for the Traditional Turkish Wooden Yacht, whatever the spelling this classic wooden boat is a modern success.

TURKEY CHARTER BLUE VOYAGE TOUR

WHAT IS A GULET?

Imagine wooden sailing boats thousands of years ago carrying cargos of wine and copper across the Aegean to trade with ancient civilization, or fishing boat earning a living from the Mediterranean teerning with fish. Such boats were built along the Aegean coast of Turkey and many of the skills and designs used then have been passed down to today's boat builders.

The Turkish gullet is very similar to the working boats of old times and, equipped with engines and modem facilities, they allow you to explore the beautiful Turkish coast in comfort and style and relive sprint an age long past.

Poseidon A gulets, from 33 meters long, are also very wide, so there is plenty of space below for large cabins and above for you to sunbathe, sit under the shade of a sun awning and eat outside comfortably around a dining table on the aft deck. 8-20 people can be accommodated in double cabins, all with private shower and wc. Even with up 20 guests the tanks provide plenty of water for hot showers. Still there is room for a fully equipped galley, where the cook prepares your meals from the freshest local produce.

What could be more romantic than cruising on a traditional wooden boat with all the sails up under blue cloudless skies? Holidays, are on a full board basis. Complimentary water is served at meat times and excellent bar service is also provided with competitive prices. Your Captain can at any time arrange water skiing, jet skis, rungoes even bananas and scuba diving (at an additional cost).

WHAT TO BRING

Travel light is our best advice to you, swim wear and tee shirts is all you will you need on board in the daytime. In the evenings people dress casually, but bring sweaters and trousers if you are coming in the cooler months to use on the boat. On board we provide hand and bath towels please bring your own beach towels. All this should be packed into a soft bag, not a suitcase, which can be folded and stowed away to give more room in your cabin.

The Mediterranean sun is very bright and on a moving boat hotter than you think, be sure to pack sunglasses, a good suntan lotion and a hat. If mosquitoes find you tasty then bring mosquito repellant and a camera is an absolute must. Small touches that our guests, feel as though they are on a floating, five star hotel. Specially selected stoneware plates, granite galley counters, creative dinner settings, oversized wine glasses, custom bathrobes, fine linens, a selection of music CDs and books complement the first class service provided by her highly experienced crew.

All the finishing touches that a 5 star hotel has to offer have been included in this design of a brand new gulet. These will ensure that you and your friends or family feel as though they are on a floating deluxe hotel. If relaxation, peace and tranquillity, quality and excellent service are what you have in mind then she is the gulet for you. Cruising the amazing Turkish coast line of the Mediterranean will give you the most wonderful memories any holiday could give.
