A pod of four dolphins oscillate through the surface of Fame Bay grazing the shallows for their morning smorgasbord, gently rolling their tails in the morning sun before descending for another morsel. Later, another turns, points at the cruising boat and flaps her tail in a repeated welcome. More surge towards the bow in hope of riding the bow wave only to be disappointed by the slow pace of the chugging diesel. These gentle creatures have made Port Stephens a welcome home.
