Exploring Sardinia

Sardinia was very nice because it was not as built up as the Balearics. At the restaurant in Portoscuso, we ate spaghetti vongole (spaghetti with clams), ravioli, and calamari for dinner. For dessert, we ate a Sardinian dessert called pardula (a little cake inside crunchy pastry) and deep fried ravioli with ricotta cheese inside.
The next day, we sailed to Cala Piscinni, a wilderness anchorage. We went swimming, and the next day went for a hike. On the way, a preying mantis jumped on Jonas's leg and he started doing a weird dance because he didn't know it wasn't poisonous. Dad came running back because he was scared too, and didn't know it wasn't poisonous either. The preying mantis got scared and ran into a bush.
We left and traveled a short way to a marina, because the anchorage was going to be rolly with that wind direction. Then we sailed to Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia. We went out for pizza for dinner. We went for a bike ride the next day, and just as we were leaving, it started to hail. Luckily, it only lasted a few minutes and the rest of the time was sunny. We biked to some salt pans and saw flamingoes. The next morning, we bought some new sunglasses for me and went to the market and ate lunch there. There were about 20 different fruit stalls and many meat stalls selling interesting parts of animals that we don't usually eat. We bought some really good, crumbly, old Parmesan from a cheese stall.
