San Carlos Nov 2014

Blue Snail is still in San Carlos. In September, we were fortunate to have the boat here as the remnants of Hurricane Odile passed by, about 75 miles away. This was the storm that was devastating to Cabo San Lucas and La Paz on the Baja side of Mexico. Winds here in San Carlos were about 35-45 for [...]

Blue Snail Blog San Carlos September 2014
We cannot believe how fast the summer has gone! We have kept busy with our regular maintenance of Blue Snail and Frank has continued to complete a few projects. The re-varnished teak cabin sole looks fabulous! Other than that work, we continue to make our plans for our next step.
The weather here in San Carlos has turned much hotter in the past week. Had a few days of 100 plus with a much hotter heat index, so quite stifling. Thank goodness for air-conditioning!! Had a few days with lots of clouds and spotty showers, all due to the proximity of Hurricane Marie. The storm was about 500-600 miles from us. A week ago, in the morning we had a chabasco (major wind event/sometimes rain too), blow through. Winds were 20-40 through the marina and got everyone's attention. No serious damage that we know of but some items were re-located within the marina.
Franks uses his bike to do various errands around town and I have ridden mine a couple of times. The first time out I fell completely off when I tried to stop at the end of the ride. I was unhurt but embarrassed.
Moshe the cat, went for her 3 year tune-up with the local vet, and got all of her shots updated. A nice neighbor drove us and it was a quick and painless trip. It was for us anyway. Again, good thing the cat can't talk! Speaking of cats, we are still feeding the group of stray cats for the sanctuary and it is rewarding but sad.
Nothing else to report for August, so will report again later.
