Nara Inlet, Hook Island

Wow, stunning place, has a real Norwegian Fjord feel about it,
got here pretty early as it was only 15miles from Whitehaven Beach, no wind whatsoever today so just motored round, ha! nearly got caught out going through the passage between the islands that has a reverse flow tidal stream! WTF! yep, I was also confused, anyway, tide going fast, opposite direction from us, small passage, super hot day, engine starts overheating just as we are entering....Mark is giving me the should I be concerned look, I'm trying to look all laid back and nonchalant about it but am secretly repeating a mantra of shitshitshitshitshit inside my head and getting ready to chuck the anchor out, but disaster was averted when I cut the revs and we limped through at the speed of a striking slug, phew! I'll need to give the cooling system some love, either that or go somewhere cold!
Nara Inlet has a Ngaro cultural site that you can go to, the Ngaro were the Indigenous "salt water people" who lived here before all us whiteys turned up and gatecrashed the party, the cultural site is some caves with paintings that shows that people were living here 9000 years ago..........probably had no mobile phone coverage back then I imagine.....
