A breezy night, but all is good today

We are doing great today and having an awesome sail beam reaching in 15 knots of breeze, but it was crazy first day (and night) out! We had 25-30 knots of upwind sailing for hours on end late yesterday and through the night. We sailed most of it with two reefs in the main and two reefs in the staysail, but when it got dark we put a third reef in the main. That last reef doesnt leave you with much sail, but it slowed the boat down and left us feeling more relaxed for the night watches. It was also really rough out last night with confused seas and at about 3 AM, the staysail sheet parted with a bang! With the staysail out of commission, we were down to a triple reefed main and an engine until daylight when we could safely fix the sheet.
We're back to 100% with a full main and Genny, enjoying a gorgeous day at sea. It's nice to have the warm air and sunshine to dry things out after a wet night (no rain, just lots of spray off the bows).
Hopefully, tonight is less exciting :)
