THE TRANSATLANTIC TALE BEGINS ARC DAY 1
20 December 2017 | Leaving Las Palmas
Ag/hot and sunny
Got started on time and without mishap. Wee Bragger helped us get extra waves from the huge crowds ....
But weird bobbing about with 200 other boats but it was eventually our turn to be off after one boat had to go back with cut needs stitching and another crossed the line too early...
We were near but not at the back as we wafted down past the airport and I put my emergency veg lasagne in the oven. Quite an exciting night wind and waves and had a bit of a drama with a stuck headsail but brilliant crew sorted it out and so began our complex watch system, basically three hours on, six off but with ever changing 'partners'.. no sleep....for anyone except maybe Peter...feeling fine thanks to magic watch and stugeron but two broken dinner plates aaagh!
