DAY SEVEN
Dawned fine enough though not the usual bright sunshine...the calm before the storm. We took the ominous decision to turn south heading straight into the dead doldrums zone. But instead of dead doldrums we almost immediately incurred big winds over 30 knots, thunder, lightning and torrential rain. Add confused and turbulent waves and in my book that is The Perfect Storm. I got very wet hence now lying levitating on my bed in t shirt and knickers to warm up. We appear to be wallowing now - who knows what next but genny is on so I guess the big boys will be having tea. Peter and Paul have been the helmsmen heroes thus far...to be continued....
And so it continued, all day all night -- huge squalls with thunder, lightning, 40moh winds and big seas yuk yuk yuk and no one can sleep. I made a vile dinner chicken chickpea tikka yuk yuk yuk and took to my bed after a bed bath and before my 2230 watch. Peter and Paul both stayed up to look after me. Unlike my husband....
