DAY 22 A BAD DAY
24 January 2018 | I would WALK 400
DAY 22
Hoping to get last Sunday off to a good start with croissants...downhill gastronomically from then perhaps but under 400 miles to go which isn't far..if we can maintain 7knts..hmm unknown to me Genny's gone all hormonal again, bringing back B's big black cloud...nothing a cup of tea and a croissant can't deal with...
Two more sleeps...maybe...?
Hmmm....yet another day of fraught anxiety. This time whilst attempting to complete the impossible task of 'mousing' the wiring for the new vhf handset, water discovered in the bilge coming from the stern gland at the prop. Not good. All safely pumped out and bolts tightened but monitoring every hour. XXX strikes again - think they've now achieved a Perfect Score for failure in every single thing they've done on poor Brag. And dinner prep somewhat curtailed but Paul seems determined. Feels to me like the much anticipated Pot Noodle moment. Keep you posted. Oh and if anyone wants to know who our mechanical engineers in Largs were for our ARC prep, just drop me a line...bed crisis as aft cabin has to be accessible for checks. I am NOT sleeping with anyone other than my husband so....
Bed at 7pm with no dinner for me but delicious chilli and veg curry for the boys...really can't face it tonight and now looking as it will be Wed before we get to SL - I was banking on two more sleeps and two more days of cooking in intolerable conditions. Praying the wind returns and we can get the engine and its leaky bottom switched off. Did I mention diarrhoea???! Hope someone else rescues the evening with some music. Galley looks like a bomb site but tomorrow is Deep Clean Day and boy does this boat need it...Day 22 is A Bad Day but like DC Thomson horoscopes perhaps no one can have two bad days in a row?
