Extended stay at Bundaberg

21 September 2013
We were only planning a quick stop in Bundaberg just to pick up fresh bread and milk however the weather predictions were for 30plus knot winds so we decided to wait it passed. Bundaberg Port Marina was fully booked out as everyone were trying to get to protected areas so we had no choice but to drop anchor in the Burnett River, we were pleasantly surprised as it turned out to be a very comfortable and safe anchorage, it also became a very busy place with lots of yachts and catamarans dropping anchor over a this period.

We took the bus to Bundaberg CBD and did a bit of sightseeing and shopping including another new mobile, the mobile that we bought in Hong Kong has given me heaps of problems so I just went for a basic $99.00 one.

Five days later there was a massive exodus from Bundaberg as the weather cleared and the winds died down. We headed to Kingfisher resort.
