Peel Island overnight

30 September 2013
Arrived at Horseshoe Bay in Peel Island after 11 hours mostly motorsailing averaging 6 knots per hour. It looks like a really nice place, something to look forward on our next trip as for now we are trying to make our way back to Port Stephens asap.

The funny thing was that prior to leaving Mooloolaba we logged on with Mooloolaba Coastguard as we always do and they asked us to report location to Redcliffe Coastguard as we went by which we did and we told them that our ETA Tangalooma was 17.00 hours. During the day we changed our destination to a bit further south to Peel Island. When we arrived at Peel Island we tried to contact the coastguard on the VHF radio with no luck so I went to ring them and notice two messeges on my mobile.... First one from the Coastguard they have been trying to contact us since 2pm and the other was from water police, I rang water police and they were searching for us :S apparently coastguard thought that our ETA was 14.00. Anyway I explained to them that the ETA was 17.00 hours and they were fine with that. (I hope Christian didn't get a phone call saying... your mother is lost at sea.
