The market at Government Station

Rebecca with Patrick
Vegetables are abundant here, and they are oversized and underpriced compared to anywhere in the Pacific so far. Three huge cucumbers, fresh off the vine, are less than 1$US. Kumara, sweet potato - are so large, one will feed a whole family with leftovers. We had sailed the Pacific just ahead or behind mango season. Finally in Rotuma mangos were ripe on the trees and on the ground. Patrick was in heaven. One day when we were invited for lunch, we were served mango smoothies; to die for. I don't even like Mangos, but these drinks were irresistible. They sent us home with some nice big ripe ones.
