A New Spot
31 July 2017 | Tenants Harbor, ME
Rich
Taking advantage of another spell of beautiful weather we headed to Tenant's Harbor off Muscle Ridge Channel, about 18 miles south of Camden. We had passed by there many times on our way to and from Rhode Island in the past but had never stopped. The harbor is full of a mix of lobster boats and summer cruisers. We took a mooring and then spent a few hours walking around the harbor, chatting with people in three of their four stores (a food market/gas station, a gift and antique shop and a small book store in a house) and visiting their excellent new library and an art gallery. Tenant's Harbor is in the town of St. George, hence the sculpture of St. George and the Dragon outside the town hall. After a pleasant supper and night on the mooring we will explore some islands we have also bypassed in the past on our way back to Camden.
