River Dunes
11/19/2012, North Carolina

The wind is still whirling here. Somehow, we are in this vortex of air that doesn't want to die down but that's alright because we are very comfortable at dock. The boat gently rocks us at night and that's nice for sleeping.
Tomorrow we're off by car to visit friends down near Southport, N.C. for Thanksgiving. Maybe Sat. we'll depart. All in good time!

The Horse Show
11/17/2012, Lexington, Va.

Caitlin did very well. She and Jethro placed first and third in her two runs in the never-ending class. I'd say there were some 50 horses that we sat and watched do a practice run and then do two runs on the course. The whole class took over 3 hours to complete. This was the hunter/jumper 2 ft. class. She placed for both runs and then received the Champion ribbon for her performance. It doesn't get any better than this!! What proud grandparents we are!!!
We are back on the boat but with the 20-30 knots of wind predicted the next few days, we may elect to sit tight where we are. The temps are warmer here (in the 50's) and we are rocking a lot tonight.

Had Lunch out today!
11/13/2012, Oriental, N.C.

Take two grain bins and put in restaurant/deli/small store in them and you have "The Silos." We had lunch out today at "The Silo's" today in Oriental, N.C. We had booked the loaner car for noon 'til 2 and ventured out. Oriental is about 10 min. away from River Dunes. We hit the 2 for 1 medium pizza day and it was great. We have enough for another meal!! As you can tell, it doesn't take much to entertain us.
Met some great people in the laundry room today. One couple from Stewartstown, Pa.!! Can you believe that? They live 8 mi. from home. It's fun to talk to people to see where they're from.
This afternoon, the rain moved in. Back to the warmer clothes and running the heater! Tomorrow we head to cooler climate of Va. for the horse show.
