After talking to several people at Dinner Key, we decided to check out the mooring field at Stuart, 8 miles up the Okeechobee Waterway/St. Lucie River. So after a 34 mile trip from Lake Worth, here we are. The water isn't pretty (but it's a river so we didn't expect it to be) but the facility is first rate. The price is very reasonable, the cruisers' lounge and porch are large and comfortable, the dinghy dock is good, the showers and laundry are clean and in good shape, there's a free shuttle for shopping, and the downtown area is a short walk away. We signed up for a week!
