We are outta here! It's 4:30 am, drinking coffee, making a light breakfast and as soon as it get's a little lighter, we are gone! Finally the weather is in our favor all the way up to the equator. That's 1,100 miles from here and I'd like to cross at 140 degrees longitude, to hit the tail of the ITCZ. Daily reports and email will be once a day and remeber we will have no internet so we will not be able to see comments on the blog. But you can send emails to us at buckaroo@ocens.net cya!

Today,Saturday, after pulling all of our weather resources, and we have about 9 different ones we use, we decided to let things settle down a bit a haul butt early tomorrow. Weather permitting! Hate to jinx anything but stuff moves in fast here. Main reason is that about 60 miless north of here, on our course, we will run into gale force plus winds! By waiting a day, according to our grib/wind files, it should lay down by the time we get there. all we need is 72 hours of good to crappy weather to get away from all the systems that are marching through here. Once we get past 14 degree south latitude, we're golden. George and I did a lenghtly blog post this morning but for some reason got lost in space. Mostly about weather and how we have been fixing things on the boat, like the bilge pump. Good thing that was just a stuck one way valve! There is only the 1 electric pump however there is a hand pump called a Gusher that works really well.Later this evening I'll post a bunch of pics that George took, especially ones of the grade school's outrigger teams. They are a hoot! Once we leave here, if it is too rough, it might be a day before a post and location report but I will try to send out something even a " We're good!" report. Also it will be via sat phone and we can get e-mail and I had signed up with NOAA to get text weather reports, plus Ocens Weather has tons of features to use. Till then, lynn
