Don & Deb's Big Adventure on Buena Vista
Our new playground is FIJI for 2014!
It's All at the Shack!
12/18/2011, La Paz, Mexico

Adam and Cindi took us up to the newest hot spot for cruisers in La Paz. It's called The Shack. They're known for their incredible pig roasting events and also for their burgers. You gotta go try one, they're huge and so delicious.

Who Knew He Had Game!
12/18/2011, La Paz, Mexico

The back room at The Shack is set up for darts. I am a total clutz with the things. Adam obviously knows what he's doing cause he's got style when he throws them. Cindi is a real goer at whatever she does...and Don...well...he started slow but once he warmed up he beat the pants off of everyone! Who Knew! The surprise of the night!

Visiting Bravo
12/17/2011, La Paz, Mexico

We spent lots of time buddy boating with Adam and Cindi on Bravo this last summer. They've been in La Paz for a month or so getting Bravo ready for the next part of their sailing adventure to Central America, Panama, and Ecuador. They have helped Buena Vista move into digital age as far as entertainment on board goes. With the addition of a media player that connects to our television set and the purchase of a 1.5TB portable storage drive, Don and I are now able to watch lots of great movies and top notch tv series. They turned us on to the Showtime series 'Dexter', 4 seasons of 'Dexter' to be exact. For those of you who aren't familiar with the show Dexter, he is a blood splatter expert that works with the police department solving murders and he's also a serial killer himself who only kills really really bad people who the cops can't seem to catch. It's so sick and so entertaining. We're hooked. Thanks Bravo.

Time to Say 'Hasta Luego'
12/16/2011, Cabo San Lucas, Baja, Mexico

It's time to leave Cabo and get back to the boat. We've had a wonderful stay with the Darquea family, our family. Thanks Nancy and Alex for everything, we love you guys. Silly me, I didn't get a good picture of the whole family together...it guess because they're such an active group it's hard to get them all together at the same place and same time. So - I went to my mom's pictures and found this one that was taken in California last Easter. Our mom, Esther, that's her on the right, is the master of family shots. Ask anyone. Thanks Mom. We miss you too.

Mexican Cutie
12/16/2011, On the Bus from Cabo to La Paz

Not the 'Mexican Cutie' Jimmy Buffett sings about but a real mexican cutie just the same. The bus ride from Cabo San Lucas to La Paz takes just over three hours. Happily, when we get to La Paz we're catching up with our friends aboard the sailboat Bravo. They're getting ready to leave for Central America soon and we want to spend some time with them before they shove off.

I Want One.

What a gas it is to fly around on this machine. Something like a dune buggy but seemed alot more stable. We drove it around town too. I don't thing they're street legal in the states but hey, this isn't the states. Anything goes in Mexico. I guess that's why so many gringos prefer living down here to up north in the 'Excited States of America'.

Uncle Thomas Comes To Town
12/12/2011, Cabo San Lucas, Baja, Mexico

It's a big event when Uncle Thomas visits Cabo. Thomas is Alex's best friend and he's from Nevada. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of him but the toy he brought with him made quite an impression on all of us. I think it's called a Razor and boy is it fun. Here's Marco and Uncle Don coming down the driveway on their way to the beach to hit the dunes. Don drove it down to the beach and he let Marco drive it back. I guess Marco felt pretty comfortable with the machine because the next day when nobody was at home he took it out on his own. Gutsy kid...don't leave your keys in the car around Marco :)

There's Real Talent In Our Presence

That's right, Noelle was the only one at the table who could accomplish the internationally known 'spoon on the nose' feat.
