(you're a very) Bad Refer!
21 December 2011 | Puerto Escondido, Baja, Mexico
After a nice trip to Cabo and La Paz we returned to Buena Vista and found that our refrigerator had broken down sometime during the last two weeks. It was a bit smelly in there but luckily we didn't lose that much food because we hadn't stocked up at all before we left. Don installed this Adler/Barbour Super Cold Machine and also built the refer box just 2-1/2 years ago. After working with the tech support guy in W. Virginia for an entire day (using the boat's email only) he determined that we needed a new Danfoss Control Module. We pulled out the faulty module and it looked absolutely immaculate. I asked the guy as nicely as I could what could possible be wrong with this module as it's only 2-1/2 years old. He said that this module is an electronic device and electronics just don't last that well in a marine environment. Hey - you build them and advertise them to be used in the marine environment, don't you? Oh well, as my friend Arlene reminded me - what one of our favorite comediennes the wonderful Gilder Radner as 'Rosanne Rosanna Danna' used to say...It's always something! The part is in San Diego and some Puerto Escondido locals will be bringing it down with them somewhere around the 3rd or 4th. Hey, as long as they're bringing the refer part...maybe they can bring us down another Kindle as Don keeps stealing mine. What a grand idea.
