Sometimes Mexico seems so desolate but if you keep you eyes and ears open there is life everywhere. Unexpected things happen alot, like this cow walking through the water at low tide to go up the canyon we hiked up yesterday. Why he's going there I have no idea.

That's Buena Vista and Picara at anchor in this amazing place. Such a peaceful night, quiet and calm. We got a tiny bit of rain the next morning.

Beautiful, amazing, interesting, fabulous, awe-inspiring...The Sea of Cortez has so many wonderful places to see. Los Gatos is up there on the list. The last time we were here was last June. We had Cath and Linz (our friends from New Zealand) on board. We met up with good friends John and Gilly on 'Destiny'. Gilly made us all a great traditional mexican meal. We said 'Hasta Luego' (see you later) to them, thinking we'd see them at Thanksgiving at their home on the mainland of Mexico by Puerto Vallarta. John and Gilly then sailed down to Cabo then up to California for the summer, as Don and I sailed to the northern Sea of Cortez. They did have their annual Thanksgiving party at their home but me and Don never made it across to the mainland and missed the big get-together. Makes me sad to think I won't see them again for a long, long time. Maybe they'll come and visit us when we're in Australia or New Zealand.

This coastline is so gorgeous. We have really enjoyed the different rock formations and all the colors.

We just met the 'Rhiannon' folks, Eric and Merry. They had been in the same boatyard in Guaymas as 'Picara' so Mike and Marni were already friends with them. Don and I really liked them both and wished that we had met them alot sooner. As we took off to go south, they turned to go north. Such is the cruising life. The people you meet are so kind and generous. Just when you think you've found someone who could be a lifetime friend it's time to say goodbye. Good luck to you 'Rhiannon', I hope we meet again.
