Reaching For The Sky

You get a magical feeling as you walk through these giants.

Too Big To Hug - Almost

Beautiful (there's that word again). The cardon is one of the largest cacti in the world. They can grow up to 70 feet tall and nearly 5 feet wide. There are thousands of them here at Mangle Solo, a real cardon forest.

Strangely Familiar?

I don't know...Somehow it reminds me of my husband.

And What Do You Think Lives Here?

Not sure what lives in there but I'm sure not going to stick my finger in to find out.

I Thought I Heard A Moo

Sometimes Mexico seems so desolate but if you keep you eyes and ears open there is life everywhere. Unexpected things happen alot, like this cow walking through the water at low tide to go up the canyon we hiked up yesterday. Why he's going there I have no idea.

I Think I'll Frame This One

That's Buena Vista and Picara at anchor in this amazing place. Such a peaceful night, quiet and calm. We got a tiny bit of rain the next morning.

I Need A New Word
01/16/2012, Los Gatos

Beautiful, amazing, interesting, fabulous, awe-inspiring...The Sea of Cortez has so many wonderful places to see. Los Gatos is up there on the list. The last time we were here was last June. We had Cath and Linz (our friends from New Zealand) on board. We met up with good friends John and Gilly on 'Destiny'. Gilly made us all a great traditional mexican meal. We said 'Hasta Luego' (see you later) to them, thinking we'd see them at Thanksgiving at their home on the mainland of Mexico by Puerto Vallarta. John and Gilly then sailed down to Cabo then up to California for the summer, as Don and I sailed to the northern Sea of Cortez. They did have their annual Thanksgiving party at their home but me and Don never made it across to the mainland and missed the big get-together. Makes me sad to think I won't see them again for a long, long time. Maybe they'll come and visit us when we're in Australia or New Zealand.

Goofy Don

I don't know how he comes up with this stuff but I have to share what a goofball my husband is.
