Thanks to the wind gods- and we don't mean Zephyrus, we're stuck in Lake Worth waiting for a change. Will check the cut tomorrow to see what we're up against, hopefully our luck will come about Tuesday and we can make way for Great Sale.

Departure

We couldn't have asked for better weather, sunny and warm with solid but not too strong breezes -- for the last three weeks. We'll stay dry to finish things. Afterwards, on a mooring ball then the guys start south on Easter Sunday. Let's hope it's warmer than 2007 Easter Sunday when we last started out for the Bahamas at 35 degrees, yikes!

Things get real nice south of Ponte Vedra. The McMansions give way to the pastels of palm and cypress trees. Palmettoes and sawgrass. All blurred and reflected in the tannin-rich waters. A few fishing boats and the shore dotted by fewer houses. It's Florida. But like that college girlfriend that said it was her not you, you pine away for her, but deep down you realize that even though you may see her out and about from time to time, she's gone for good.

A couple of hours later we were back to the civilization of Vilano Beach then St Aug. We made great time with the diesel and head sail out. Before we knew it, we passed beneath the Brdge O Lions and rounded into the San Sebastian River. Docking was a little tricky, but after three passes, the fourth time was a charm.
