Snorkeling with dolphins

The water is so clear here, we must have 100 feet visibility. Here's Francois in the water with Calou's rudder in the background. It was taken with the camera inside a waterproof bag. We were visited by numerous very large dolphins today. They played in the harbor between all the anchored boats. We could see their backs and dorsal fins and hear the gentle "whoosh" sound as they take in air.

Los Frailes Beach Party
John
11/17/2006

About 30 boats at Los Frailes had an impromptu giant bonfire potluck party on the beach last night, and reminisced about the recently completed Baja Ha-Ha. The partying continues, as we and many of the other Ha-Ha boats make their way north to La Paz. Tonight there are another 20 or so boats anchored in what's reported to be extremely calm conditions at Los Muertos, a little to the north. It's so calm here that we will stay another day before making the last push to La Paz. By the way, the free wireless/satellite Internet access in the bay can't be beat, especially given that there is just one restaurant here and no town.

Bahia de los Muertos
Bruce

Now we're in beautiful Bahia de los Muertos. Muertos refers not to dead people, but to the moorings, which in English can also be referred to as dead-heads. There's no town here, but there's a restaurant called the Giggling Marlin Beach & Yacht Club. We're going there tonight for dinner. I looked at their menu earlier and they have mariscos dinners for $8 US. Sounds great to me!
