Fishing boats are tied up at the village of Barra de Navidad. This is a colorful, quaint little town, with one church, no banks, and dozens of little shops and inexpensive restaurants.

Pascale enjoys a chat with Maria, the owner of Maria's Tienda. Maria takes orders for anything you want in the way of groceries, drives to neaby cities to get it if she doesn't have it, and delivers to our boat. She also delivers propane refills and laundry. She's a real gem.

We had dinner with Lou & Marge of Seabird, a Swan 51 from Fresno CA. Lou is a Transpac Singlehander, but he talked Marge into doing the Baja Haha with him this year.

We arrived at Barra de Navidad day before yesterday; we are staying in the marina at the Grand Bay Hotel. I read that Conde Nast has rated this resort as #1 in all of Mexico. I can believe it, this is a gorgeous hotel. As guests in the Marina we are considered guests of the hotel with access to all the resort amenities.
The hotel is just a short water taxi across the channel to the picturesque town of Barra de Navidad. It's a great walking town with tons of great restaurants and shops along its cobblestone streets.
Here's a picture of the swimming pool at the hotel.
