Beach treasures and sandbars

The difference of solitude and a caravan of boats begins early in the day with a captain’s meeting.Considering the upcoming weather and our voyage so far, Jack and I have decided to return to the states with Make it Easy and Wyvern.
After nearly 3 months at sea they are ready to head home. We may not continue all the way, but both crews seemed delighted that we will accompany them. It is reassuring to have a buddy when things get rough.
We spent the day dinghying to deserted islands and beach-combing for treasures real or imagined. These are mundane and restful activities until low water on our route home changed the tide of the trip (literally)
The route we followed to the islands became somewhat obscured and low water turned into sandbars with a tide change of about 3 feet. In two dinghies, One captained by Jack carrying Kris and Phyllis, and the other captained by Charlie carrying Tim and Maryann, we managed to slog through the rapidly shallowing water to find a clear channel back to the sailboats. We got our exercise in that attempt. All is well that ends well and we celebrated with sundowners on Caprice.
