2. Into the Saltwater We Go

25 June 2014 | Shilshole Bay Marina, Ballard Locks
Capt. Jon and First Mate Sarah
Our first travel day was a doozy...

With mom (Patty) as our crew member, we departed from our home port of Queen City Yacht Club. We then stopped for fuel at Morrison's Fuel Dock on Lake Union, raised the Fremont Bridge, and tackled the locks.

After passing through the locks, Briskwater was floating in salt water for the first time in quite a few months. We saw the place we ran aground a year and a half ago and dropped our crew member at Shilshole Bay Marina, our former home port. Of course, we grabbed a grabbed a diabolical Paseo's sandwich for the road.
