Ya Mon!

While doing some chores early this moring, I could hear Donovan & Presley joking around as they were sanding & scraping out in the cock-pit. They seemed to be having a good time while they were working, but it was hard to understand what they were saying. I popped my head out the companionway to ask them a question about their language, and Donovan said to '"wait a minuite, he'd be right back". He'd gone up to the marina store and bought me two presents. One was a beautiful brightly coloured Jamaican bracelet, and the other was a Jamaican dictionary. As they helped me to pronounce the common Jamaican expressions found in the dictionary, we laughed and laughed. They wanted me to practice some on Ron, but I said it'd be better to wait until he'd finished his business emails idown in the lower salon. "Soon come", is my favorite Jamaican saying, which is very similar to "Manana" in Spanish. It means "sometime in the future"...not always right away!
