Almost Christmas

22 December 2017 | Little Harbour, Abaco
Doug
The days before Christmas we headed to Little Harbour where they were having an arts and craft show the Saturday before Christmas.

On the way to an anchorage at Lynyard Cay, outside of Little Harbour, we passed the Sandy Cay reef and noticed how calm it was, so we decided to return the next day to snorkel. On the way back to Sandy Cay, we caught a yellowtail snapper. We had a great snorkel tour of the reef in calm seas. This was Karrie’s first snorkel trip in a long while. She was impressed with the abundance of life, the purple sea fans and the beautiful large coral formations.

After lunch we headed south to Little Harbour, caught a mutton snapper and small grouper (which we released) on the way, and picked up the last available mooring ball in the small harbor. The next day we took the dinghy into the dock, wandered through the small arts and craft show, checked out the bronze sculptures in Pete’s Gallery, and had lunch at the “world famous” Pete’s Pub (where the elite meet in their bare feet).
