The wind builds as we enter Gardiners bay. We first have all sails out, but must eventually reef as the wind gusts above 25 mph.

Numerous tacks are required to reach Coecles Harbor, which is directly upwind. Our boat speed is quite good between 6-7+ kts. We first furl our staysail, and later partially furl the jib. This actually results in an increase in boat speed as we are now sailing more "on our feet."

The approach to Coecles Marina, where we will moor, is somewhat difficult. A narrow channel winds its way up the harbor, and depths at low water are near 6 feet in spots. We are approaching at high tide, which gives us an additional 2.5 feet of water, and even so we record depths below 8 feet on our approach.
