We follow Seaquill out of the harbor. We figure Jack can navigate us out, as he knows the shallow spots, having grounded yesterday when going out for a daysail.

Route to Montauk
Bill
07/13/2008

We leave in the AM for Montauk, known mostly for it's sportsfishing and powerboating. It s a venue not well travelled by sailboats, but interesting nevertheless.

We will sail about 20 miles, partly retracing our steps back to Gardiner Point, then turning more easterly.

The forecast promises good weather and winds. We will leave on the early side to take advantage of high tide leaving Shelter.
