"Candygram!!!"

While we were eating lunch, just below us on the dock this shark was unloaded and weighed in.

Star Island holds the world's record for the largest Great White ever caught, weighing more than 3400 lbs., caught in 1986.

Check out "The Greatest Great White" in the links.

Outnumbered at Montauk

We arrive in Montauk at 1 PM after a great sail in 15 kt winds. We sailed the entire trip on one tack only, averaging 5-6 kts.

We are the last into Montauk Lake, as it is called. We tie up at Star Island Marina, and appear to be the only sailboats here. We are outnumbered by powerboats about 200:1.

We follow Seaquill out of the harbor. We figure Jack can navigate us out, as he knows the shallow spots, having grounded yesterday when going out for a daysail.
