The "Swan" Trophy

The results of 4 separate races determined this year's winner of the "Swan" Thophy. Peter, last year's winner and Race Chairman, presented the results to all of us gathered at the Ida Lewis Yacht Club.

NIXIE is this year's winner, having placed first in every race. The crew of NIXIE accepted the trophy from Peter, with the instructions to keep the trophy on board NIXIE until next year's race, and to make any improvements to the trophy that they would like.

Race To Block
Bill
07/16/2009, Block Island

Our race from Cuttyhunk to Block Island featured gusty winds from the West-southwest. We sailed upwind, heeled over, for most of the Race. This was very entertaining. Watch the video!! For a more realistic effect, hold the screen so that the horizon is "horizontal", to simulate what the crew experienced.

We arrived in Cuttyhunk Tuesday, sailing an upwind course in moderate conditions. The weather remained beautiful and the passage was uneventful. We were rejoined by Simple Life, and SoulMates IIIleft us for the OSCA Rendezvous.

We spent 2 days in Cuttyhunk. We visited the Cuttyhunk Fishing Club for breakfast, and purchased lobsters on the fish dock for dinner Wednesday night.
