First...we really appreciate feedback and comments--both on the blog and on Facebook. Thank you so much. We get notifications but cannot respond from areas (like here) where we only have satphone service for communications.
We made it! We are the entrance to the Northwest Passage. We're safely at anchor in a gorgeous inlet. There is a nice glacier and tundra. When the weather imrproves, we hope to take a visit ashore. Currently we're having hight winds and on-and-off rain. BUT IT IS WARM! 52 degrees.
On the way here we had mostly smooth sailing. Near the entrance to Canadian waters, we encountered our first sea ice. Not very much, but enough to keep is on our toes and at one point, about an hour's worth of dodging ice chunks.
