All white for now...

Pictured above is the first coat of polyester resin and my stopping point for now. This repair and some obligations at work have kept Anne and I in Everglades City well past our orginal departure date. We are undecided how much more work we will put into the cosmetics of the repair vs. what portion of the remaining work we will hire out. Our next extended stop will be a haul out in Beaufort, NC. I feel much more adept at the structural work and feel like moving further forward into the realm of cosmetic repairs would only serve to frustrate us.
It is time to go play...
Of the seven days from the first cuts into the deck to the current state, we invested a combined, approx 50 hours on the project. The greatest expense would be the epoxies and tools used to work with the epoxies. We purchased 4X8 sheet of the core material for around $40 and reused the exsiting deck. I'm confident the greatest expense will end up being the cosmetic work yet to come.
If you found this helpful or if you have futher questions about the project please leave a comment or e-mail. We will certainly post images of the completed project later in the summer.
