End of a long day...

09 May 2007 | St George Island, GA
Jeff
Departing St. Augustine we never dreamed our day would take us through gray rains and wildfire smoke, into Jacksonville Beach to purchase a new halyard, past a Navy Destroyer with helicopters above, and finally into a tropical storm watch. All good things must come to an end. From the cockpit of C'est la Vie, anchored off St Georges Island we watched the sun slip below the horizon. I would like to return to St. George's Island to explore. The area in which we are anchored, currently managed by the National Park Service, is the site of the Kingsley Plantation. Build in 1813, the plantation house and out buildings are still standing.

We continue to tune into all the NOAA updates on Tropical Storm Andrea and believe it will gradually move S or SW. For this reason we will continue north tomorrow.
