Waking to the news of Tropical Storm Andrea's disorganization and move to the south we assume our 40 STM day up to Cumberland Island, GA will be a short day. NOAA is forecasting 15 to 20 knot winds on our bow. This translates to... no sailing, just another day of motoring in the ditch. The winds build beyond the forecasted 15 to 20 shortly after we stow the anchor and rejoin the waterway. Our eagerness to explore Cumberland Island entices us forward. Approaching Fernandina Beach, the incoming tide combined with the 25+ knot winds, seen in image above, slow our progress to below 2.5 knots. When we cross St. Mary's Inlet the incoming tide will assist us with overcoming these winds...
