touch and go...

Slipping by the lasers in the inlet we touched the clear ocean waters and then retreated into the inlet and retraced our travels upriver. The image above, of the Lovett's was captured as we rounded the Masonboro Inlet Sea buoy.
Retracing our day's journey aboard Sunshine we decided to tie up along Wilmington's City Docks for the night. Wilmington has wonderful city docks that host transients for $1/foot or $1.25/foot w/ power and water. Tying up at the docks places the crew in a lively downtown waterfront district with an abundance of shops, restaurants, and nightlife. There is also a Coast Guard Cutter and the Battleship North Carolina open for tours. Albeit an 8 mile one-way detour from the ICW timing the tides right, inexpensive docking, and a myriad of activities will likely draw us back to Wilmington on future voyages.
Thanks to the Lovett's for hosting us aboard Sunshine.
